Cloud Service Providers
There are several cloud service providers across IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions. However, three major players offer the widest and most complete range of solutions.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
As far as IaaS is concerned, all three offer all of the standard features including instant provisioning, self-service, autoscaling, identity management, security and compliance. They may differ in pricing, but the quality of service is the same across all providers.
However, their offerings are not equal across SaaS and PaaS solutions. At this time AWS is the dominant player with the highest number of services on offer and it is also the most mature, having been a pioneer in this space.
