  • Predictive Maintenance

Predictive maintenance is a process in which the condition of in-service equipment is monitored in order to estimate when maintenance should be performed. This approach is more effective in reducing downtime compared to scheduled maintenance.

The main value of predictive maintenance is the prevention of unexpected equipment failures. By analyzing data related to the state of the equipment maintenance work can be better planned resulting in optimized spare parts handling, increased equipment lifetime, and increased safety.

AI/ML solutions can work very well to schedule predictive maintenance given their ability to process vast amounts of data (in this case current and past machine performance data, failure rates, failure reasons, and so on) and to recognize patterns in the data far more effectively than humans could.
