Generative AI Models

Generative AI is a type of AI that is capable of creating new content such as images, videos, music, and text. It uses what are known as generative models to learn from data and generate new content.

Threre are two main types of models: Foundational Models (FMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Foundation models (FMs) are a broader category of AI models that include large language models (LLMs). FMs are pre-trained models that can process and understand many types of data, including text, images, and audio. LLMs are specialized for processing and generating human language.

FMs are more versatile and can handle multiple data types, while LLMs are focused on text-based tasks. FMs are trained on large datasets using deep learning algorithms, and may require more complex training procedures. FMs can be applied to a wider range of tasks, including image captioning, sentiment analysis, and decision-making. LLMs are used for text-based tasks like writing assistance and conversational AI.
